Property Sales to Foreigners – September marks 5th consecutive month of rising sales.
A total of 5,269 properties were purchased by foreigners in September, up 26% compared to the same month last year and by 34% when compared to August. This brings the total number of property sales for the year up to 26,165.
A sure sign that the business is recovering from the impact of the pandemic, 11,903 properties have been purchased by foreigners in just the last 3 months – this is more than 46% of the total for the year to date.
As has been the case for some time now, the 2 provinces of Istanbul and Antalya enjoyed the lion’s share of sales last month, with these 2 combined accounting for 64% of all sales.
Sector representatives are optimistic for the last quarter of the year, and it looks like the year-end target of 40,000 sales could be achieved – this would be a quite remarkable achievement, considering that the borders were closed for nearly 4 months.
