Property Sales to Foreigners – Best ever October on record.

A total of 5,258 properties were purchased by foreigners in October, up 18% compared to the same month last year and just 11 units short of the highest ever single month total recorded in September. This brings the total number of sales for the year up to 31,423.

A sure sign that the business is recovering from the impact of the pandemic, 14,420 properties have been purchased by foreigners in just the last 3 months  – this is nearly 46% of the total for the year to date.

As has been the case for some time now, the 2 provinces of Istanbul and Antalya enjoyed the lion’s share of sales last month, with these 2 combined accounting for 65% of all sales.

Sector representatives are optimistic for the last 2 months of the year and these latest figures bring us ever closer to the year-end target of 40,000 sales. If this target is achieved, then there will will be a collective sigh of relief from everyone within the business.
